This skull with flowers pattern creates a 40" by 40" square block where life meets death. You can increase it to a lap blanket or a twin by adding background fabric strips. This pattern is 145 pattern pieces, sewn into 8 sections. I would not recommend it as your first FPP project as it is a bit more challenging.
